The iconic Paranthewali gali is a street located deep in the heart of Chandni Chowk. It has many small shops that sell the deep-fried stuffed Indian breads which attract foodies from across the world. While simpler parathas are a common breakfast-food in North Indian households, the variety of stuffing, from vegetable and lentils to more exotic fillings like dry fruits, that you can taste in the eateries here is incomparable to any other food experience.

This foodie’s paradise started taking shape in the historical market place of Chandni Chowk in the 1870’s, and slowly the number grew to almost 20 parantha shops in a row. Today, there are 3 famous shops which exist here, often with the sixth generation of the same family running the shop. The shops proudly display photos of famous guests who have visited them over the years.

How to get there?

The closest airport is Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, which connects to Chandni Chowk via the metro-train service. 

Delhi is well-connected to all the other Indian states via flights, trains, and buses. Trains connect from the Old Delhi, New Delhi and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway stations, amongst many others. The main bus stand for the city is the Inter-State Bus Terminal at Kashmiri Gate, which is 4km away from Chandni Chowk. 

Within Delhi city, the closest bus stand is the Lal Quila bus stand at a distance of 800m from the eateries. The closest metro station is the Chandni Chowk Metro Station on the Yellow Line, 950m away.
